Architectural Metal Systems

This project involved the construction of 5000m² of additional accommodation at AMS Manufacturing Facility. The works consisted of the construction of a new production/warehouse building, the transfer of the existing fabrication operation and storage facility to this building, while providing an extension and major alterations to the existing building to facilitate the installation of a new Aluminium Extrusion Press. The works also included the provision of extensive carparking areas and concrete storage yard.

MMD Construction were employed as Project Managers/Design Coordinators, Main Contractor and the Project Supervisor Construction Stage (PSCS) for the works at AMS. As Project Managers, MMD Construction were responsible for coordinating the project delivery process between the Client and Design Team members. As PSCS, MMD Construction had the responsibility of managing and coordinating all health and safety matters during the works. As Main Contractor, MMD Construction were responsible for ensuring the works were completed in accordance with the contract documents and complied with all statutory requirements including the Building Control Regulations and the Building Control (Amendment) Regulations.

The works took place on a busy Manufacturing Facility with a lot of pedestrian and traffic movements. The existing facility remained fully operational while the works were underway. This project required the strict management of multiple sub-contractors to ensure a successful outcome.
