Dunmanway Swimming Pool

This project involved the construction of a new modern swimming pool building. The existing swimming pool adjacent to the site remained fully operational and open to the public during construction works and was demolished upon completion.

MMD Construction was the main Contractor and the Project Supervisor Construction Stage (PSCS) for the Dunmanway Swimming Pool project. As PSCS, MMD Construction had the responsibility of managing and coordinating all health and safety matters during the works. All works were completed in accordance with the contract documents and complied with all statutory requirements including the Building Control Regulations and the Building Control (Amendment) Regulations.

A critical aspect of the works was to keep the existing swimming pool fully operational during the construction of the new building. The works took place on a busy site with a lot of pedestrian and traffic movement. The MMD Construction Site Management Team liaised very closely with the Swimming Pool Management to ensure that the works would not interfere with the existing facility. Stakeholder and Traffic Management Plans were approved prior to any works commencing and were used throughout the project.
