Cork University Hospital

MMD Construction had a full-time presence at Cork University Hospital for the past 7 years completing various projects. Works completed included; demolition and enabling works, refurbishments and various ward upgrades. All works were completed on a live hospital campus and required strict aspergillus control measures.

MMD Construction was the main Contractor and the Project Supervisor Construction Stage (PSCS) for the works at Cork University Hospital. As PSCS, MMD Construction had the responsibility of managing and coordinating all health and safety matters during the works. All construction works were in accordance with current Building Regulations and the HSE Standards and Technical Guidance documents.

All of the works took place on a busy live hospital campus, therefore the MMD Construction Site Management Team liaised very closely with the Campus Management Team to ensure that the works would not interfere with any hospital activities. Stakeholder and Traffic Management Plans were approved prior to any works commencing and were used throughout the project.
