Japanese Knotweed Works

MMD Construction was contracted by IDA Ireland to install root barrier membrane at IDA Industrial Park, Carrigtwohill. Following an invasive survey, Japanese knotweed had been identified within site. Two knotweed areas were noted at a southern boundary, adjacent to a local road. The root barrier membrane was proposed to prevent spreading of knotweed from adjacent areas. The works involved the installation of a membrane barrier in a 3m deep trench, which was 7m away from the knotweed locations.
